As a member of two distinct professional organizations, Nancy Federspiel is committed to keeping current with information related to college admissions.
Nancy is an active member of IECA (The Independent Educational Consultants Association). IECA is widely recognized as the nation's leading professional organization for those educational consultants working in private practice. As a member, she has met the highest standards in the profession. IECA consultants are required to have a master's degree in counseling or an appropriate field; they must have experience in counseling and have worked with scores of students before they are considered for membership. As an IECA member, Nancy has visited over 150 college campuses, and she spends nearly 20% of her time each year touring colleges.
IECA members are pledged to maintain the highest ethical standards in working with students and families. When a family chooses an educational consultant who is a member of IECA, they are assured that the consultant is experienced, competently trained, and committed to honest and ethical practices. Members affirm yearly that they will accept no compensation from any institution in exchange for student acceptance.
Nancy is also a member of NACAC (The National Association for College Admission Counseling). Committed to the high standards of ethical and social responsibility that inspired its founding, NACAC has been at the forefront of driving professionalism and inclusion in the admission counseling field throughout its history. NACAC develops and adopts policy statements to guide the work of the organization and to maintain high standards of integrity and practice among its members to better serve students.
NACAC Mission: The National Association for College Admission Counseling will support and advance the work of counseling and enrollment professionals as they help all students realize their full educational potential, with particular emphasis on the transition to postsecondary education. NACAC is committed to promoting high professional standards that foster ethical and social responsibility.
